Services citizens can actually reach
Digital services for municipalities, provincial departments and state agencies — accessible, auditable, and built to survive audit season.
Our position
Public-sector systems carry obligations private-sector ones do not: every citizen must be able to use them regardless of device, connectivity or disability; every decision must be traceable; and every rand must be defensible to the Auditor-General. We build to those constraints from the first line of code, and we have delivered for agencies including SEDA and local municipalities.
Challenges
These are the problems that come up in a first meeting, with the cost of leaving each one unaddressed.
Applications, permits and complaints move as physical files, with no visibility of where a case sits or how long it has been there.
Manual processes leave gaps in the audit trail that surface as findings months after the fact.
A meaningful share of citizens have low-end devices, limited data and varying literacy. Services designed for a laptop exclude them.
Each department procures separately, producing duplicated citizen records and no single view.
Systems are delivered by vendors and then cannot be maintained internally once the contract ends.
What we build
Applications, payments, permits and status tracking, usable on a low-end phone over 3G.
Every case timestamped, assigned, escalated and reportable against its statutory turnaround.
Every state change recorded with actor, timestamp and justification, and exportable for the Auditor-General.
Service access for citizens without smartphones or data, through channels they already use.
Automated extraction and validation of submitted documents, cutting review queues without removing human sign-off.
Public-facing performance reporting generated automatically from operational data.
AI opportunities
Ranked by how proven the approach is. We are explicit about what is experimental, because deploying an experiment as though it were proven is how AI programmes lose credibility.
Extraction and validation of identity documents, proof of address and supporting certificates, with human review of exceptions.
A grounded assistant answering service questions in English, Setswana, isiZulu and Afrikaans.
Automatic classification and routing of reported faults from citizen photographs and descriptions.
Anomaly detection across billing and meter data to surface unbilled and mis-billed accounts.
