We are headquartered in Rustenburg, North West. We work across South Africa and take on international engagements. For projects with a field component we prefer to be physically present, so we factor travel into scope rather than pretending remote delivery is equivalent.

How do you price work?

Discovery is fixed price so you know what it costs before committing to anything larger. Delivery is either a fixed-capacity monthly team or fixed price per milestone where scope is genuinely stable. We do not do open-ended time and materials — it misaligns our incentives against yours.

What is the smallest project you will take on?

There is no minimum for brand and web work — a new identity and a website is a completely normal engagement for us and one of the most common ways clients start. Custom software is different: below roughly R150 000 the overhead of proper discovery, architecture and handover starts to outweigh the value, and we will tell you that honestly rather than take the work.

Can we just get a logo and a website, without the rest of it?

Yes, and most clients do exactly that first. You are not signing up to a transformation programme. We build the brand and the site properly, hand you the source and the CMS, and you are free to stop there — the design tokens and the content model are built so that an app, a portal or an AI assistant can be added in a year or in five, by us or by anyone else.

We are a small business. Are we too small for you?

No. A six-store retailer and a national mining group need the same things from us — clear positioning, work that actually functions, and honesty about what it will cost. The engagements differ in scale, not in care. If we genuinely are the wrong fit we will say so and point you somewhere better suited.

How quickly can you start?

Discovery can usually start within two to three weeks. Full delivery capacity depends on the current pipeline — we will give you a real date rather than an optimistic one, and we do not start work we cannot properly staff.

Entirely, from the first commit. We work in your repository or transfer ours at completion. There are no runtime licences, no per-seat fees and no encrypted components. If you want to take the system elsewhere, you can.

Can you work alongside our internal development team?

Regularly, and it is usually the best outcome. We pair, review each other's pull requests and hand over incrementally. The goal is that your team owns the system, not that they inherit it.

Do you use AI to write the code you deliver?

We use AI tooling in development the way we use any other tool, and every line that reaches production is reviewed by an engineer who understands it and is accountable for it. We are happy to discuss our practice in detail if it matters to your governance.

Are you B-BBEE and CSD compliant?

Yes. Vitjo Media (Pty) Ltd is registered on the Central Supplier Database and tax compliant, with a current B-BBEE certificate available on request.

How do you handle confidentiality?

We sign your NDA before discovery. Several of the engagements described on this site are anonymised for exactly that reason, and we will not name you as a client or publish a case study without your written approval of both the attribution and every figure quoted.

These are not aspirations on a wall. Each one costs us something, which is how you can tell they are real.

Say the uncomfortable thing early
If the data is not ready, the scope is wrong, or the thing you asked for will not solve the problem you described, you will hear it in week one rather than at handover. This costs us work sometimes. It is still the right policy.
Measure before you build
Every engagement starts with a baseline. Without one there is no way to know whether what we built helped, and "it feels faster" is not a business case.
You own everything
Source code, infrastructure definitions, documentation and the knowledge to run it. No licence traps, no encrypted binaries, no dependency by design. If you want to stop working with us, you should be able to.
Design is not decoration
We came from brand and film and never left. That heritage is why our engineering looks the way it does — and why we treat interface craft as a functional requirement rather than a finishing layer.
Build for the conditions that exist
Intermittent connectivity, mid-range Android handsets, expensive data, load-shedding. Software designed for a fibre connection in an office fails the people who most need it to work.
Leave the team better than we found it
Enablement is built into delivery rather than bolted on at the end. The measure of a good handover is that nobody needs to call us.

From a creative studio to an engineering company

Nothing here was planned in advance. Each step happened because clients asked for the next thing and we decided to learn how to do it properly.

Vitjo Media starts as a creative studio doing brand identity, photography and film for businesses across the North West.

Broadcast production
Music video and corporate film work reaches national broadcast, including Channel O. The production practice becomes a standing part of the business.

Digital becomes the centre
Clients start asking for the systems behind the brand. Web and application development moves from a service line to the core of the company.

Engagements with mining operations and public entities move us from websites to operational platforms with real consequences attached.
